Naloxone Access

In 2023, the FDA approved naloxone to be available over-the-counter, like ibuprofen. Any local pharmacy should carry Narcan, or would be able to order it for you. If your naloxone is not covered by insurance, ask the pharmacy what the cost is or if there are any applicable discount cards.

If you would like to carry naloxone with you but are unable to afford it at a pharmacy, please reach out to Step Up Naugy and we can provide a kit for you.

To find a local pharmacy, check out the interactive map on NORA, CT's naloxone app.

National Harm Reduction Coalition

National Harm Reduction Coalition works for the Harm Reduction movement built on a belief in and respect for the rights of people who use drugs. They direct people to resources which help reduce the dangers associated with substance use.
